0 Reviews

New Beacon Books is pleased to make available again this classic book on the Carnival, first published in 1972 but out of print for many years.

It is being re-published in its original form including all the colour and black and white illustrations. There is a new introductory essay from Errol Hill that summarizes significant developments in the Carnival over the past 25 years and six additional colour plates.

“Readers will view Trinidad Carnival as containing important materials on history, social associations, linguistic and culture evolution or technical dramatic or ethnomusical aspects of Carnival…”

Joseph Long, American Anthropologist 75
